My client are seeking a Registered Nurse, with Mental Health experience, to join their fantastic service in Fareham to provide direct care to inpatients, assessing needs and managing risks whilst maintaining a theraputic and safe environment.

You will be facilitating patient centred care that focuses upon recovery, rehabilitation, empowerment and improving the quality of life for people.

The successful candidate will be a R.N.M.H, RN(LD)1 or RMN/RGN with experience working with adults with mental health issues. You must be caring, compassionate, confident and competent with excellent communications skills. You must enjoy working within a challenging but ultimately rewarding environment.

Job role

To take full responsibility for maintaining professional standards of care and nursing available to residents within the home.
To support the Care Home Manager in the day to day operation of the service, deputising as directed in their absence
To assist in managing and co-ordinating the service and in delivering high quality care to the people who live in the company`s Nursing Homes/hospitals for People with Mental Health.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a residential setting, ensuring the delivery of holistic, recovery care to all service users, through the supervision and support of all staff at lower grades and in the implementation of the Care Programme Approach.
Fulfil the role of key worker, thus coordinating and participating in holistic and recovery support plans for a defined group of service users.
To maintain skills and knowledge and ensure that care is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available.
Ensure the ongoing safety of residents staff, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes.
Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used.
To be responsible for upholding resident’s rights under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Ensuring Mental Health Act paper work is scrutinised and regularly checked.
Provide service users with relevant information and documentation relating to leave entitlements and their rights under the Mental Health Act.
Ensure service users are helped to get legal representation where appropriate and/or support from advocacy agencies.
Act as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice.
To take charge of the unit regularly as the shift leader and, in the absence of the management team, accepting responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the unit.
To help maintain the security of the building and its environment.
To comply with company policies and procedures including those which govern Health and Safety at Work.
To maintain confidentiality of any information received in the course of your duties.
To dress appropriately.

Qualifications

Must be R.N.M.H., RN (LD) 1, or RNM/RGN (with experience of working with this client group)

Must be able to work effectively as an individual and within a team
Must be confident

Desirable Skills

GCSE, or equivalent, in English
Experience working in the community
Supervision skills
Knowledge and experience of person centred support planning
Related hobbies or skills
Cooking skills
Car driver

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS Check and satisfactory references.

You must be able to work shifts, days, nights and weekends as per the duty rota as required.
