Salary: £17.4 – £21.3 per hour

Options for Care are looking to recruit Senior Registered Mental Health Nurses and Mental Health Nurses for our two existing hospital units, Montague Court and Dartmouth House and our new hospital unit, Stanford Court. We are also recruiting Learning Disability Nurses with experience or passion for working in our mental health services.

  • Montague Court is an 18 bed male long term mental health rehabilitation inpatient unit based in Edgbaston, Birmingham
  • Dartmouth House is a 16 bed male long term mental health rehabilitation inpatient unit based in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham.
  • Stanford Court will be a 20 bed male mental health inpatient unit based in Balsall Heath, Birmingham. This will consist of a 15 bed enhanced care service alongside five self-contained recovery flats to enable continued development of independent living skills in preparation for discharge.

We have limited vacancies in each of our existing services but we are also looking to build a new nursing team for Stanford Court. We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic nurses with a genuine passion for working with people who have severe and enduring mental health diagnoses and share our mission, vision and values.

In addition to an annual pay review, Options for Care benefits from an incremental pay pathway linked to the appraisal process. The first of these is awarded following successful completion of a six-month probation period.

Options for Care have continually and successfully weathered the storm of COVID-19 alongside our health and social care colleagues. We recognise that the value of our CQC-rated Good and Outstanding services lies in our exceptional and committed staff. For this reason, all staff have an individual wellbeing risk assessment on commencement in post. This supports their continued wellbeing and attendance at work. Options for Care have ensured a constant supply of PPE from the very beginning and throughout the pandemic. Despite the government’s removal of isolation payments, Options for Care continues to offer COVID-19 isolation payments alongside company sick pay.

Staff continue to safely work with service users supporting them in their progression along their recovery pathway. Despite the pandemic and significantly increased challenges, we maintain relationship-centred, best practice interventions in collaboration with people, supporting individuals to improve their quality of life. They continue to work towards their personal goals whilst we maintain least restrictive principles.
