This is an exciting new role and opportunity within a market leading provider of structural building components. Through collaboration with various departments, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality and technical output of a driven team of technicians and engineers.

The role involves direct “functional” responsibility over both the technical delivery and R&D team. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in construction and/or steel fabrication managing a technical design team with a heavy bias towards continuous improvement. By utilising established KPIs, you should be able identify and personally implement small, medium and large-scale projects to improve both output and quality. A proven track record in leadership is required to implement necessary change within both teams and help support and further improve project delivery.

Duties:

• Oversee and have overall technical responsibility for the Technical Department
• Investigate and resolve short-term quality issues whilst implementing medium to long term quality improvement initiatives to positively impact Right First Time (RFT) measures.
• Work with Technical Leads to improve team output through a combination of process optimisation, training and automation.
• Responsible for the identification and delivery of R&D innovation projects (incremental product improvements and new product implementation)
• Deliver and facilitate structured training to improve knowledge of department.
• The role will involve keeping up to date with changes in building regulations and to continue to develop existing and innovate new products to support our growing customer base and needs.
