Therapeutic Residential Support Practitioner

Salary: £26,000 per year

We are looking for an enthusiastic Children’s Therapeutic Residential Support Practitioner to join our growing team of passionate support practitioners in Cannock, who has previous experience working with Children and Young People with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.

We provide specialised therapeutic care for Children and Young People aged 8 – 18 who have suffered a history of trauma, abuse, neglect and display complex emotional and challenging behaviour as a result of their adverse childhood experiences.

The home is a 2 bedded therapeutically informed provision that specialises in supporting Children and Young People between the ages of 8-18 with EBD.

Whilst providing a warm nurturing environment, you will be required to use your skills, knowledge and experience to provide support, including weekends and sleep in duties as part of a rolling rota.

This candidate must have a good understanding of the Quality Care Standards that govern Children’s Residential settings and have the skills and qualities needed in providing the high quality of care to the Children and Young People residing in our home.

Some of the duties and responsibilities held by the successful candidate include:

– Supporting Young People in their day-to-day routines

– Completing and maintaining administrative records as required by our home

– Demonstrating the attributes of a positive role model for the Children and Young People

– Developing and maintaining professional working relationships

The candidate must have the following:

– Previous experience working within a Children’s residential home setting

– Hold a Full UK Driving Licence

– Hold a NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Workforce or be willing to work towards gaining this qualification

Please note

This position requires sleep-ins and work hours are across 7 days on a rota basis

Our staff team are contracted to 40 hours per week (£26,000 per year) and approximately 10 sleep-ins (£30 sleep-in rate) per month.

Shift examples are as follows:

10am-10pm, sleep-in, 7am-10am (single)

10am – 10pm, sleep-in, 7am-10pm, sleep-in, 7am-10am (double)
