So, there’s a company who run a communications platform, providing services 24/7.

Their customers and their systems vary greatly across industries, size, scale and requirements. So, there’s a lot of different technologies to integrate their platform and services with and they have cross-functional teams facilitating scalability using Azure.

And… They’re after an Azure Data Engineer to design, build and implement data warehouses using pipelines to move data from theirs and their customers’ systems to data warehouses.

You’d be working on their core products and get involved with some of the bespoke functionality certain customers need.

It’s important their solutions are scalable, while also considering things like security and performance, monitoring, tuning – you get the idea.

This is because their customers can experience fluctuations in usage due to growth, seasonal demand and myriad other scenarios impacting areas including peoples’ health or when folks might receive a parcel. It’s that varied.

The kind of people who love working at this company are folks who may bore their pets / children / *insert affection vacuum*, by constantly talking about tech. Because you probably enjoy using it to solve problems.

Whether it’s interesting features from super-old stuff that you came across in a book or blog that’s somehow still relevant, or you’ve learned about the latest Azure features and you just want to express the ideas you have and potentially applications for it.

The role will include things like consulting other teams and sometimes customers, coaching and a lot of knowledge sharing – if you’re brilliant at something, help others to become brilliant too.

A couple of bits that stand out… ‘Desirables’, some might say. If you’ve built and deployed systems using Microsoft Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Factory, Blob Storage, if you understand Machine Learning or Infrastructure as Code and like to make things as user friendly and accessible as possible, then blimey!
