Senior Mechanical Engineer (Waste to Energy) – Warrington – Permanet

Description: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Waste to Energy – Permanent

Ccurrently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer based at our office in Solihull. You will produce superior quality engineering design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and consultancy contracts. You will report directly to the Principal Engineer and duties/responsibilities of the role will include;

* Produce mechanical design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively

* Ensure that plant and equipment procured by the department is procured on time and to budget

* Ensure continuous improvement of the business processes

* Monitor design costs and provide design services appropriate to the allowance available

* Manage cost effective mechanical designs by other mechanical and assistant mechanical engineers

* Co-ordinate designs with all other disciplines internal and external in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole

* Produce designs which take account of safety requirements in accordance with CDM regulations

* Produce cost estimates and budgets for new work through calculations and external enquiries.

Qualifications:

* Extensive power/steam generation experience.

* Ceaser II proficient

* Produced mechanical design for medium and high pressure steam and condensate lines. Have particular experience in specifying drip legs, expansion loops and pipe work restraints, supports and hangers.

*Extensive experience in pressure steam pipe stress analysis. Must have experience in working with PED third party accredited bodies to gain design code and insurance acceptance.

* Possess demonstrable experience in the design of steam and condensate pressure vessels including but not limited to de-aerators, flash vessels, blow-down vessels, hot wells and heat exchanges.

* Extensive experience in training and mentoring steam design engineers in all aspects of steam and condensate circuit design.

* Knowledge of ASME V111

* Essential – BEng Mechanical Engineering

* IMECHE – Chartered
