Sessional Tutors for Prison Education (Sc)

We’d like to register a whole range of tutors for sessional work within the prison environment in South Central England. This means you will work on a supply basis, although, this could be part time or full time, it also gives you the flexibility to work as and when it suits you. Working in the prisons can be both challenging, and rewarding, and is something different to your usual every day teaching roles. In some of the Prisons, you may need a DBS (as they house young offenders), although you can have one done through Vision for Education.

Chosen candidates MUST have a teaching qualification (PTTLS or Above), as well as a Level 3 Qualification in their specialism, and a minimum of 6 months UK teaching experience.

Subjects taught in the prison are:
* Functional Skills (Maths/Numeracy, English/Literacy and/or ICT)
* Construction (Painting & Decorating, Tiling, Bricklaying, Plumbing, Carpentry, Joinery, Plastering, etc.)
* Food Hygiene/Catering & Hospitality
* Industrial Cleaning/Laundry
* Health & Safety
* Employability
* ESOL
* Art
* ICT
* Business
* IV/Assessing
* Waste Management
* Money Management
* Healthy Eating
* Motor Vehicle
* Electrical Installation
* Horticulture

We pay our Prison Tutors £21 per hour, and each one will receive expenses which are offset against their tax. Although we are an agency, we do not use an umbrella company, as we have our own payroll department. Each candidate working in the prisons will accrue holiday pay for every hour worked.
