Salary: £26,000 per year

We are currently recruiting for a number of Production Operative / Machine Operative roles with a large scale, international manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Leeds.

These are permanent positions and the role is ideal for semi-skilled candidates looking to build a long-term career as there are lots of opportunities to progress within the company.

The company work strictly to Lean principles of manufacturing so some experience of working in a Continuous Improvement environment would be an advantage.

The general duties of the role are as follows:

Ensure each machine is handed over in good condition.
Conduct periodic checks in accordance with relevant procedure and/or specification.
Ensure correct amount of consumables are available at each machine in accordance with the correct procedure and/or specification.
Ensure completed boxes are stacked on correct pallet type and shrink-wrapped, in accordance with the relevant requirement, then book into warehouse.
Maintain a high standard of record keeping in accordance with the Company Management Systems, without exception. This includes all required production recording documentation.
Report any non-conformances to the Shift Leader on duty or nominated second.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times.
Record all machine stoppages and machine faults on necessary documentation.
Record all scrap on Mattec as required.
Dispose of waste in accordance with relevant procedure/s.
Ensure all procedures are followed correctly and without exception.
Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised.
Demonstrate ability to make decisions based on data.
Use the necessary or required internal and/or external software to facilitate this role including SAP, Q-Pulse and Mattec. This list is non-exhaustive.
Work with your departmental manager and team members to identify, implement and drive actions for continuous improvement.
Utilise LEAN skills and techniques, for example, 5S, Visual Management, Kanban, Kaizen.The role is on a continental shift pattern working on 12 hour rotating day and night shifts Monday – Sunday. Due to location and shift times candidates will require their own transport.

These are permanent positions; the hourly rate of pay is £26,000. There is also a generous benefits package including private health care, death in service, competitive holiday entitlement and a generous pension scheme.
