Salary: £28,800 per year

Quality Control Technician (Maternity Cover)

Hours: 40 hours a week – 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Location: Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire

Holidays: 25 days per annum

This is a role within the Technical Team, covering Maternity Leave, supporting the Technical Manager; and involves managing the site QC testing requirements; to support and assist the factory to ensure safe and legal products are made, and avoid delays in production. There will also be a requirement respond to customer enquiries in a timely manner. The right candidate must be able to fit into the existing business and demonstrate excellent people skills both internally and externally.

Job Description

• Responsible for all on site QC Testing to ensure our products are safe, legal, fit for human
• consumption and meets customer requirements
• Support production with technical enquiries and paperwork
• Support the business in providing technical information internally and to customers
• Manage a safe, clean, efficient and organised QC Lab
• Completing Customer technical documentation, ensuring procedural compliance

Qualifications

• Ideally HND or Degree Food Science qualification
• Level 2 Food Hygiene for Manufacturing – desirable
• Allergen Awareness – desirable
• Hold a clean UK Drivers Licence with own vehicle

Personal Qualities

• Previous experience in a similar role and in creating product specifications
• Knowledge of retailer standards would be beneficial
• Exceptional organisational skills
• Relevant food training
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficiency with Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook essential
• Self-motivated and able to prioritise work
• well within a small team
• Ability to work calmly under pressure
• Great attention to detail
