Electronic Repair & Service Technician

Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

Our client are looking to expand their team and recruit a permanent Electronics Repair & Service Technician for their Unit in Irlam.

The are an established business in their industry and offer an excellent working environment.

Duties:

Analysis and repair of lighting equipment down to component level.
Fault finding on circuit boards & replacing damaged components.
Repair of switch mode power supplies.
System diagnostics including basic serial communications (Eg. RS485/DMX).
Carry out functional testing of repaired equipment.
Safety test repaired equipment.
Perform software updates.
Provide technical support to customers.

Qualifications Required:
At least 3 years experience in a similar role.
Ideally have HNC or HND in Electronics & Electrical Engineering.
Experienced with working on mains voltage equipment.
Familiar with basic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM’s, Clamp meters, PAT testers.
Ability to diagnose circuit faults down to component level.
Excellent soldering & de-soldering skills.
Able to read & understand schematic drawings.
Able to search for replacement components.
Good written & verbal communication.
