Senior Perl Developer – Manchester up to £45,000

My industry leading client based in Manchester is currently recruiting for a Senior Perl Developer to join their existing team.

The successful candidate will be involved in multiple projects as the company is rapidly growing; this is a great opportunity to join a very technical organisation.
Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a wide array of projects written in Perl (CGI), Shell and HTML. The ideal developer will have broad knowledge of web development technologies and be well-versed in software development processes, especially RAD. The ideal candidate should also be familiar with XML, CSS and a LAMP environment. You will also be able to identify business processes that can be automated to benefit the company. The ability to communicate ideas back and forth with both technical and non-technical employees and customers is essential. An excellent command of English (written and spoken) is also a major requirement, as is intelligence and a sense of humour. A team leader accustomed to managing people, projects would be a serious advantage.

Key Skills
• Perl Development
• Linux Skills (Debian/CentOS)
• High security focus in designing applications (access control, encryption, SQL injection prevention, etc).
• MYSQL Fundamentals. General understanding of database design & query language syntax, Advanced SQL skills a real bonus.
• XML, HTML, JavaScript (AJAX even better) StyleSheets (Other development technologies PHP, Java etc)
• Experience of collaboration tools such as CVS, Subversion.
