Learning Support Assistant / Behaviour Support Worker
Leader Education is working in partnership with an independent SEMH School based in Wakefield.
We are recruiting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant / Behaviour Support Worker to work in a specialist independent SEMH school, providing educational support to students across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4.
You will have previous experience of working with students with SEMH – social, emotional and mental health issues (previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD).
Experience of supporting students with Autism / ASD would be beneficial to this role.
You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy and understanding.
THE JOB:
you will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with SEMH – Social Emotional and Mental Health issues and / or Autism
to comply with individual learning plans
to take direction from the class teacher
YOU:
must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH
be patient and resilient
be creative
make learning fun
excellent communication skills
have a therapeutic and holistic approach
Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
This is a full time, permanent vacancy, immediate start.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: 18K – 20K
