Purchase Ledger Clerk

Salary: £26,400 – £27,600 per year

Purchase Ledger Clerk – St Ives – 22,000/23,000

ALH Recruitment are looking for a Purchase Ledger clerk with immediate effect, for our growing client based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

Overview

Support the day-to-day function of the Purchase Ledger function in the accounts department. Ensure a smooth and efficient accounts payable experience for all customers. Deal directly with customers on queries to ensure resolution.

Main Responsibilities

* Processing supplier invoices onto the finance system

* Reconcile ledger to maintain accuracy and integrity

* Reconcile customer statements to ledger at month end

* Reconcile cash book at month end

* Collate invoice, order and delivery notes

* Prepare and process payment runs weekly

* Flag future large payments to CFO

* Reconcile delivery notes against delivery reports from goods in

* Deal with supplier queries and maintain high standards on customer service in at all times

* Dealing with internal queries

* Assisting the CFO with ad-hoc duties as required

Other Duties

* Set up new suppliers

* Upkeep of filing system

* Assisting the accounts department where required

Plus any other duties consistent with the position as directed.

* Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills

* Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of responsibilities

* Treating all internal and external customers with kindness, dignity and respect

* Completes compulsory training in approved timescales

* Demonstrates satisfactory working relationships and show respect for colleagues

* Maintains an acceptable work rate and completes duties in a timely way

* Strong customer service skills

* Good IT skills

* Willingness to learn new systems and procedures
