Salary: £26,000 per year
Rainsbrook is a secure training centre for children and adolescents (CYP) between the ages of 12-18. We are seeking for a strong candidate to support the Lead Psychologist in delivering an effective and high quality psychology service within the centre, with a particular emphasis on providing support and developing individual and group interventions for the CYP.
The Assistant Psychologist will work within the department as well as part of the multi-disciplinary Care Management Team (CMT) to contribute to intervention development and delivery, using specialist assessment tools, designing and delivering staff training, and monitoring of outcomes.
You will also support in any audit, service evaluation or research as needed and support the Lead Psychologist in creating and encouraging a psychologically informed environment for CYP with an emphasis on trauma informed practices. Clinical supervision is an important part of development and this will be provided as part of the role.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have, at a minimum, a BSc Psychology 2:1 which confers to Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society, and preferably post graduate training in psychology.
You will have experience of working with individuals with complex mental health needs in clinical and preferably forensic settings, with a sound knowledge of psychological theories relevant to CYP and psychological approaches to working with this population. You will have previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist within the field of mental health. You will ideally have some experience in delivering group and individual interventions under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist.
You will be a strong team player, well-organised and have good communication skills.
Successful candidates will have to meet the person requirements in order to be offered this post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
