Our client are recruiting for a Lead Theatre Practice Development Practitioner who will be the an expert in your field with highly specialised knowledge and advanced clinical practice experience in perioperative areas, ensuring the theatre practitioners are supported in maximising their potential in the Perioperative environment with training and development and ensure records are kept up to date. Identifying skill gaps in the team and individuals, you will ensure the service the dept offers to our patients and consultant. You will also participate in audit and assist the teams to be comfortable in inspecting processes

Duties & Responsibilities
• Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluation of perioperative patient care
• Participate in education, training and development of other staff.
• Support to all teams in the perioperative environment of their learning needs: Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery and Students (pre and post graduate) Practitioners.
• Liaise with Learning & Development in developing programs for the Perioperative environment.
• Awareness of the effective management of resources within the department
• Raise the standards of practice by ensuring compliance and adherence to Local policies and procedures and registration/accreditation bodies.
• Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives.
• Work alongside the Theatre Coordinator and other Lead Practitioners to co-ordinate the day to day running of the Theatres, ensuring efficient use of resources as required.

Skills & Experience
• Registered Nurse Level 1 or Registered ODP
• Extensive theatre experience at a Senior Practitioner level
• Recognised post graduate course in teaching and assessing
• Experience in practice development
• Mentorship Course
• Understanding and development of the NVQ and Diploma Award Systems
• Experience in project management
