Salary: £33,600 + Bonus + Competitive Package

The Role:

A vacancy exists for a Shift Supervisor working on a rotating shift basis across 3 Shifts (Mornings, Afternoons and Nights) reporting to the Plant Manager. Successful applicants will be responsible for the smooth efficient and safe running of their production/quality area. Main responsibilities will be to lead motivate and train all associates including the development of the senior production operators. To support the drive to continuously improve our processes and procedures to ensure manufactured parts are produced on time at the correct rate using standard ops to the correct quality standard with trained associates. To promote health safety and environmental issues.

Previous supervisory experience gained within a high volume manufacturing environment preferably automotive. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and PC literate.

Achieve production targets: Record, communicate, monitor and display achievement
of production performance against targets; Ensure all parts, components and consumables
are available, Resolve production problems or refer to support services as they occur
Responsible for planning, organizing and allocation of Associates activities including
control of holidays and medical visits

Quality Control: Take appropriate action when out of control conditions occur; record and
monitor scrap for disposal and corrective action; to ensure that checks and recordings are
being done in line with the Quality Plan

Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure that correct PPE is available and in use; to
undertake Risk Assessments and Environmental Aspects Assessments; to ensure that correct procedure is followed when accidents and emergencies occur; to monitor 5S activity / audit area is ready for the next shift

Labour Efficiency: To know standard times and monitor efficiency and be able to take
action if necessary

Recruitment & Training: To interview and train new Associates; using standard
operations; record training activities and maintain training matrix; notify HR when each stage is completed

Absence Control: To carry out return to work interviews with Associates
Discipline and Grievances: Understand Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures

Improvement Activities: Promote/display suggestion achievement; to organize and
participate in improvement meetings that improve performance / standard operations;
assist in compiling action plan for Consumable Improvements; responsibility for Machine Daily Maintenance & Improvement Activities

Communications: Responsibility for start of start of shift and weekly communication;
Display and update of Production Achievement, quality and attendance data

Ideal Candidate will:
Have excellent communication and numerical skills
Have previous experience in a supervisory or team leading role
Be self motivated and good organizational skills
Able to work under persistent pressure and demonstrate a flexible approach to work
Have good engineering or mechanical appreciation
Have a proven background in problem identification and resolution
