Night Shift Supervisor

Our client is currently looking for a Night Shift Supervisor to join their team in Hayes (UB4) This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business. The role is to support the dispatch manager through the supervision of all staff & process within the Dispatch area during allotted shift.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Allocation of work to staff, adjusting to demand as required
• Training & Monitoring of staff to ensure desired performance is achieved
• Maintaining a safe working environment
• Completion and communication of performance and shift reports
• Management of staff absence, holiday, rota’s, return to work and performance
• Covering Dispatch Manager holiday, understanding extra requirements and controls needed

Your day to day tasks

• Identify and clearly communicate any technical issues to the right people for resolution
• Installing and fault finding equipment such as scanners & printers
• Investigate stock & system issues
• Manage to required deadlines e.g Scotland post completed and released as required to deadline
• Monitoring and Closing of the allocation and completion of Royal Mail documents
• Ensure staff have all required materials – inserts, tapes, labels, spikes, welcome booklets, pallets of boxes, banding material, zips, vouchers etc
• Basic maintenance of box making and banding machines
• Complete all tasks as required: Picking, Replen, Banding, Box Making, Box QC
• Being familiar with all company process and procedures and meeting all other expectations and tasks set by the dispatch manager

What we’re looking for in you

• Previous experience of supervising staff is essential
• Experience within Warehousing & Distribution environments is desirable
• Experience within a food handling environment, although not essential, is preferred
• A good standard of spoken and written English is required, second languages will provide useful
• Previous working with IT systems and Microsoft packages will be of great benefit
• Flexibility towards working hours, tasks and deadlines is essential
• Be able to Demonstrate a keenness and desire to learn, develop and continually improve
• Be positive & pro-active, diligent & detailed in communications and interactions with staff, process and work environment.
• Take responsibility and be the solution yet know when clear communication to management or other departments is required.

Salary is based on experience. Please be aware that position is only on a NIGHT SHIFT.
