Data Protection Officer

Data Protection Officer – London – Full Time – Contract – £23ph limited/ umbrella

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Data Protection Officer; to improve the Council’s compliance with the legislative and regulatory framework governing the access to, and sharing of information; support the implementation of policies and procedures relating to the legal and regulatory framework governing information access and data-sharing and provide guidance and training to staff at all levels on their legal obligations.

This role will involve enabling compliance with the legislative framework; governing access to information, including the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Re-Use of Public Sector Information Regulations and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations

Your duties and responsibilities will include;
– Supporting the implementation of the Data-Sharing framework and policy
– Logging Subject Access Requests made under the Data Protection Act
– Providing advice and guidance on Information Access legislation and Data-sharing issues
– Improving compliance with Information Access legislation
– Logging Freedom of Information requests and co-ordinate responses to requests within the required deadlines

To be suitable for this opportunity; you must have
– Experience in a similar role within a local authority or similar
– Good knowledge of the Data Protection Act
– Good knowledge on Information Access legislation and Data-sharing

The rate for this position is £27.6 ph limited/ umbrella. This position is available full time Monday – Friday 36 hours a week.
