Temporary Works Engineer

Our client are a leading construction contractor within the global transport & infrastructure sector, who have recently secured a number of high profile contracts in the UK totalling close to £2 billion.

To support their continued grown – FastTrack are working in an exclusive partnership with them to identify talented construction management professionals to undertake pivotal roles in order to successfully deliver upcoming projects.

At present, we are offering an experienced Temporary Works Engineer the opportunity to work on a major infrastructure project (£500m+) in London.

Key Responsibilities

• Point of contact between the Temporary works coordinator/Designer and the site team, in all instances.
• To ensure the temporary works design is implemented in accordance with the drawings and specification (Temporary works Management plan – Design process work flow) including the erection, use, maintenance and dismantling of the temporary works, as applicable; carrying out the checks of the scheme(s) during construction on site and liaising with the Temporary works coordinator to ensure any modifications to the scheme or differences from the envisaged conditions (use or environmental) are drawn to the attention of the designer
• Technically support the site manager/team during the constructive process ensuring that the quality project requirements and expectations of client are met
• Contribute with the implementation of the organization’s procedure for the control of temporary works on site. (TW Management plan – Construction process work flow)
• Manage the small to medium complex items that are done in-house

Requirements

• Hold a Degree / HND in civil/ structural engineering
• Previous relevant experience preferably in a contractors Temporary works design office.
• Previous experience of managing a busy workload of small to medium complex items which are undertaken in-house.
• Experienced in NEC3 form of contract and Project Technical Request.
• Detailed understanding and experience in managing costs, budgets and economical planning.
• Detailed understanding in managing programmes of work, ensuring the project runs to schedule.
• Experience in contracting and negotiating all suppliers and subcontractors involved in the project.
• In depth experience in managing on site, monitoring, dealing with subcontractors and finding solutions to problems that may cause delays or extra costs.
• Experience leading site teams and mentoring them to help built a solid project team.
• Effective communicator with Clients, Clients Representatives, professional teams and statutory authorities.
• In-depth knowledge of the development and implementation of quality management.
