Main Purpose of Job:
The role of Production / Master Scheduler is primarily in the control of in house and external production requirements to support the customer needs and meet the business plan. Supporting production from stock to sale. The Production / Master Scheduler will also include playing a leading role in the team and co-ordinating the workload of the rest of the operational team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Effectively manage, control and communicate the daily, weekly and monthly production plan.
* Update the production plan to the manufacturing and sales teams.
* To be the key point of contact for our 3 major contract customers, speaking directly to the customer when required.
* To raise Sub-con purchase orders and develop strong relationships including regular supplier visits.
* To control capacity constraints within operations and establish alternative. solutions to these constraints to ensure customer delivery dates are maintained.
* To keep on top of material delivery dates and forward load against the production plan.
* To liaise with the Engineering Team Leader to understand the daily progress and areas of constraint.
* Preparing production reports accordingly i.e., sub con performance and OTD data.
* To ensure key performance indicators are reviewed and improvement plans are created to improve overall performance.
* To review maintenance/repairs and determine the effect on the production plan and adjust capacity to suit.
* To review staffing levels within each department and determine the effect on the production plan and adjust capacity to suit.
* To effectively control requests from sales to improve delivery dates and adjust production plan accordingly.
* To liaise with sales both by phone and email and discuss potential delays to the production plan.
* To develop a customer focused, pro-active function within the business which supports both commercial and operational teams in achieving company goals and targets.
* To co-ordinate deliveries through our sub con and group network of companies.
* To support the Operations Manager & Production Team Leader and undertake any reasonable task as required.
