Our Client is part of an international group with strong links to manufacturing, aerospace & scientific processing. As part of a wholly-owned US subsidiary this new role will play a leading part in bringing together the UK & Western Europe operational sites.
The business is about to embark upon a journey of harmonisation, operational consistency & improvements to ensure greater collaboration with their key customers to ensure long-term continued success. To achieve these goals the business is looking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Director to lead this new vision for the future. Reporting to a Vice President based in USA we are seeking to identify and recruit an exceptional candidate, somebody who leads from the front and is able to deliver outstanding results.
The successful candidate with have a strong academic background, proven track record of business improvement and the ability to engage with a geographically diverse group of stakeholders.

The Role:
- To partner with operating divisions to own the planning, facilitation, implementation, and sustainment of breakthrough Kaizen activities in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth
- To help develop employees’ skills through effective coaching, teaching, and mentoring
- Help create a training and development roadmap for business units and development plans for key individuals
- Train and educate manufacturing and other functional teams in the application of operational and C.I. tools
- Challenge the status quo and guide leadership teams in the identification of cross-functional improvement opportunities
- Provide proactive support and facilitation with the leadership team in the development of strategy deployment plan, action plans, operational KPIs, and effective root cause countermeasures
- To incorporate the Company’s culture in all business growth and execution activities
- To measure process improvement performance against targets
- To leverage data and results to develop a business case for change and drive impactful improvements
- To establish appropriate infrastructure and related processes for documenting and validating improvements
- Provide Kaizen related training and contribute to training material content
The Person:
- Degree educated, or equivalent, within a STEM subject gained at a recognisable University
- A proven track record leading breakthrough improvement initiatives
- Experience and understanding of workflow in a multi-site operational, or manufacturing, or engineering environment
- Demonstrated understanding of lean tools and knowledge of formalised operational improvement systems
- Experience with an established problem-solving methodology, with strong analytical skills.
- Proven ability to utilise systems, processes & resources to achieve objectives
- Demonstrated business acumen with an ability to understand and identify improvement opportunities that will provide financial benefit
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Appreciation for and successful experience in driving change management cross-functionally
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment, with sound communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to combine initiative, integrity, and professional discipline to accomplish difficult tasks through other people
- Ability to build consensus in groups, with particular ability to be able to influence without authority.
- Ability to travel across UK, Ireland & Western Europe
