They design, engineer and manufacture innovative mixed technology products for industrial use. Listed on the FTSE they are recognised for leading their market in innovative product design, quality and reliability. They have 12 manufacturing sites in Europe, USA and Asia and employ over 2000 people. As a result of continued success, they are now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with mechanical bias to support the production of A-Series printers.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will work as part of a team to ensure products are built to the appropriate standards and to bring about continuous improvement in all areas of Operations. You will ensure that the highest level of quality and process effectiveness is built into the manufacturing process and provide first line technical support to the manufacturing team in your designated area of responsibility within the Operations function.

The main objective of this role is to manage engineering change where required for product improvement, cost reduction or obsolescence avoidance. You will assist the manufacturing team in fault finding of product and test fixtures when problems arise. Other duties will include carrying out process audits to ensure adherence to process; identifying opportunities for improvement and reduced variation in the process; identifying improved working methods and test systems to improve product quality and providing mechanical / electronics support for the A-Series Printer manufacturing facility.

A graduate with an honours degree or equivalent (i.e. recognised status by a professional institute), preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, you will have at least three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. You will be flexible, a level thinker and capable of solving wide-ranging technical problems. You will be able to complete tasks on time using appropriate planning tools with the minimum of supervision. Experience of New Product Introduction and six sigma also an advantage. You will be expected to keep up to date with relevant technology.
