We currently have a vacancy for a Finance Accountant on a fixed term contract for 12 months. The role of Financial accountant is a key position to prepare and to deliver compliant and timely reporting to both external bodies and internal customers and stakeholders. The Financial Accountant will also have managerial oversight of the Bought Ledger team.
Responsibilities:
Consolidation of monthly management accounts & monthly forecasts
Perform required returns, including all statutory returns
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Prepare national statistic returns
Oversee payments and ensure smooth process.
Preparations of bank reconciliations
Posting of standard monthly journals
Preparation of control accounts on a monthly basis
Organise timeline for monthly and year end reporting
Oversee Purchase Ledger/Cashier process
Assist in collating information for yearly audit process and any other external reporting
Qualifications
Qualified/Part Qualified accountant: ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA
Strong communication skills
Challenging approach to work (looking to drive improvements through an understanding of root causes and how they can be effectively implemented)
Strong planning, time management and attention to detail
Ability to adapt own approach and priorities in line with changing business needs / priorities
Experience
Good systems skills including Excel and preferably Dynamics
Experience of tax reporting
Good understanding of accounting standards UK GAAP/IFRS
