Our client are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator to join their company. They are a regional contractor who work in a variety of sectors, this will be an office based position with regular visits to sites.

The role will consist of taking on civils and groundworks projects, whilst also looking at industrial buildings. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable both formulating their own costs on a materials, labour plant basis and working with sub-contractors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Engage with sub-contractors at pre-tender stage to establish a tender enquiry list.
• Work through drawings and establish packages to be distributed to sub-contractors.
• Liaise with the project management team to select suitable sub-contractors.
• Value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
• Agreeing final accounts with sub-contractors and deducting/adding any relevant costs.
• Be able to produce Bills of Quantities for both groundworks and super-structure works; including material take-offs and cost analysis.
• Liaise with the buying team to aid with a procurement schedule and analysis of costs.
• Produce external valuations for each project, submitting them within the required timeframe for the client to approve.
• Manage and control any variations on site and agree with the client accordingly.
• Be able to provide financial reporting and analysis when required for the management team.
• To visit site and undertake any measures/or remeasures required.
• Produce project cash flow forecasts and final accounts.
• Attend site meetings and provide financial update to the client and design team throughout projects.

The ideal candidate will’:

• Valid UK Driving License
• Have strong IT and numerical skills.
• Ideal Civil and Groundworks background Knowledge
• Highly organised and able to work to deadlines
• Salary and package is negotiable upon advance of application during interviews.
