Hours: Working throughout the night (11pm – 7am).
Kelvingrove Park is a couple of minutes away on foot and there are great bus links to all over town. The University is an easy walk and the Mitchell library is very close by too.
At Clifton House there is a quiet room, high speed Wi-Fi throughout, cinema room, gym, games room and courtyard relaxation area, perfect for socialising and relaxing.
The building features our fantastic on-site ‘Work, Rest and Play’ area on the ground floor, funky breakout social spaces on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor and the ‘Peek-a-view’ lounge on the 5th floor.
At Clifton & Stewart House, we have our very own Concierge desk which provides a busy 24 hour service.
We are now looking to recruit a first class organised and proactive Night Porter to ensure our Occupants receive a first class service.
The Role
As a Night Porter you will be the first point of call for all occupants, whether it be assisting with luggage or providing information as and when requested. You will liaise with other departments throughout both the site and the company to ensure all requests are catered for as efficiently and safely as needed.
A good knowledge of the local area is beneficial, and experience of a similar role is an advantage, but not essential as you will receive training. This is a permanent, full-time position, working throughout the night (11pm – 7am).
Throughout this busy role, the main tasks will include:
• Communal Area Checks
• Record all checks for the company Health and safety guidelines
• Monitor the CCTV
• Maintain a security presence in the building during contracted hours
• Ensure that ALL guests and visitors sign in the register
• Reporting of noise and other complaints
• Reporting of any other unusual activity
• Cleaning
• Rotate outdoor bins and log on sheet
• Maintenance
• Replace light bulbs,
• Fitting toilet seats,
• To carry out any other maintenance work that is required.
• To facilitate planned summer works during summer turnaround period
• Ensure that Community & Customer relations are maintained
• Ensure the safety needs and welfare needs of the students are being met
• Deal with lock outs or other minor emergencies promptly
• Be aware of company policies regarding major incidents
