Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Elec Bias)

The Company
My client is a well established engineering facility looking to expand their engineering maintenance team and are looking for trained engineers to join their loyal team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers to cover the ever growing work loads. The engineering site consists of complex, modern production machinery and therefore multi-skilled engineers are a key requirement to ensure the business runs successfully.

The Role
The key part of this position is covering all Mechanical Maintenance aspects of the plant. The secondary aspect would be covering minor electrical maintenance work.
As a shift engineer you will be providing 24hr maintenance coverage as part of a skilled maintenance team covering all aspects of maintenance on the mechanical side such as: Conveyors, Gearboxes, Pulleys, Lifting Gear, Chains, Heavy Mechanical machinery etc..
You will also be tasked with minor electrical maintenance tasks which covers: control panels, PLC’s, motors, drives, relays, inverters, AC/DC, 3 phase/single phase power supplies etc…

The Candidate
Successful candidates MUST have the following:
Training & Experience
Apprentice trained in mechanical or electrical engineering (or formal qualification)
Previous experience as a maintenance engineer in a production facility such as: FMCG, Plastics, Printing, Packaging, Petrochemical, Process Plant, Automotive, Food, Waste, Recycling, Water etc
.
Skill Set – Multi-Skilled in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
Please note you can be either mechanically biased or electrical biased to be successful in this role. However you must have some knowledge of both electrical and mechanical to be considered.
Strong exposure to all mechanical aspects of production machinery such as: Conveyors, Gearboxes, Pulleys, Lifting Gear, Chains, Heavy Mechanical machinery etc..
Strong electrical knowledge of electrical systems used within production machinery such as: control panels, PLC’s, motors, drives, relays, inverters, AC/DC, 3 phase/single phase power supplies etc…
Ability to learn mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures on new state of the art machinery
Strong communication abilities
Be physically fit due to the high demands of the working environment.

The Package
£40,800 per annum + Pension and Overtime
Staggered shift – Days/Nights (12 hour shifts)
