Permanent Residential Youth Support Officer

We are recruiting for 7 full-time Residential Youth Support Officers for 3 Private Children’s Residential Care Homes in Northampton.

Please note these are non-qualified positions but successful candidates will be placed on Level 3 Diploma (Children & Young People) within six months of employment which once completed will increase basic salary to 18k plus.

You will be working within a specialist unit that supports young people aged between 13 and 17 with challenging behaviour and complex such as autism, eating disorders, sexualised behaviour, self-harm, aggressive personality and addiction, you must understand the complexities of challenging behaviour and have experience working or interacting with young children.

Candidates must be confident, self-aware, interactive and knowledgeable of the reasons why young people are in care and understand the challenges faced on a regular basis when working within a children’s residential setting.

We are looking for ambitious individuals who have aspirations to succeed within this role and make a positive impact on a young children’s life both short-term and long-term.

A driving license is required for this position as you will be required to drive the on-site vehicle to take the service users to social activities and family contacts. An enhanced DBS must be obtained which is paid by the employer unless you are registered on the government’s on-line status checks.

Applicants will have experience working with young people or challenging behaviour and complex needs. We will also accept applications from individuals that have worked within difficult environments such as ex army, police, security and prison service.
