Asbestos Surveyor

Asbestos surveyor- Scottish Boarders and surrounding areas Salary up to 25,000

A leading and forward thinking environmental company is looking for an Asbestos Analyst to join their professional team in the centre of the UK.

Role Objective:

To complete to the required quality standards, identification and fibre counting of Asbestos in soils and bulk

materials and the analysis of soil and waste water samples for a range of Inorganic Chemistry methods.

Key Accountabilities:

Samples completed in compliance with quality management system

Samples completed to allocated quantities and deadlines

Adhere to Health and Safety and Company policies and procedures

Maintain daily service delivery to Company KPI’s

Interpretation and reporting of analytical data

Investigate and report on non-conforming work

Train colleagues to required standard

Understand customer requirements

Work with other team members to ensure efficient flow of samples

Asbestos ID in soils and bulk materials

Asbestos fibre counting in soils and bulk materials

Job Knowledge, Skills, Experience

P401 Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples (PLM) qualified

P403 Asbestos Fibre Counting (PCM) qualified

Experience and knowledge of asbestos quantification in bulk materials and soils would be an advantage

BOHS S301 Asbestos and Other Fibres qualified

5 GCSEs at Grade C or above to include Science, Maths and English

A levels or equivalent in scientific subjects

Laboratory experience in either Chemistry or Microbiology
