Location: Houghton Regis, Beds Due to Covid, hybrid working is in situ circa 2 days per week in office

Job Purpose
To assist The Head of Communications in effectively communicating to companies strategy as well as operational and tactical developments.
Support the companies change management programme.
Overview of the Communications Executive Position
Reporting directly to the Head of Communications this role requires liaison across all departments of the company.
You will have excellent verbal and writing skills and be expected to co-ordinate messages through different channels of communication – ensuring that they are consistent and of a high standard.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and co-ordinate an annual plan for internal communications.
* Ensure that both the “customer” and technical excellence are at the heart of all communications
* To manage and co-ordinate intranet activity
* To manage the day-to-day management of internal communications including liaison with external agencies
* To co-ordinate news opportunities across the company for internal release.
* Help establish and communicate the organisation’s narrative to colleagues and other stakeholders
* Identify up-to-date news and feature content for websites/intranet/publications.
* Provide and use metrics to evaluate communications activities and use this knowledge to adapt / amend tactics
* To provide a point of contact for the communications team at the company.
* Provide admin and events support for the Communications Department.
* To support the Head of Communications and senior Directors with Crisis Communications should the need arise
* Assist and develop relationships within the wider marketing team
* To undertake any other duties as appropriate as required by their line manager from time to time.
Essentials to have for the Communications Executive
* Superb writing and editing skills with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Creative approach to reaching audiences.
* Confident and experienced in the use of social media platforms.
* Experience of using SharePoint
* Ability to work collaboratively across all areas of the business.
* Takes ownership and personal responsibility for own learning and development.
* In house experience
* Professional qualification of at least working towards it
Good to Haves
* Experience of Change Management
* Crisis communications training or experience.
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
* Experience of organising and managing events.
* Experience in engaging the media, from trade publications to national broadcast media.
