Recruitment Consultant – Children Services

23.76 per hour PAYE / £36.02 per hour umbrella PAYE

Key duties and responsibilities

– Managing and delivering recruitment improvement projects undertaken by Children’s Social Care such as agency absorption sessions, development of campaign assets and managing events. Ensuring projects are delivered within timescale, to budget and the requisite quality, with robust outcome and benefit monitoring.

– Strategic reporting to Children’s Social Care governance on recruitment progress, risks and issues

– Delivering against initiatives and activities set out in the Children’s Services Workforce Development Strategy and Programme Plan, taking ownership for priorities which sit within the recruitment programme goal

– Delivering recruitment process improvements for candidate and applicant user experience

– Oversight for the end-to-end recruitment process in Children’s Social Care ensuring timely advert setup and release, robust shortlisting and interview processes, and proactive onboarding

– Primary point of contact for all Children’s Social Care related HR recruitment enquiries

– Supporting communication with onboarding candidates, chasing references, undertaking timely DBS requests, medical screenings, fraud checks – chasing hiring manager as required and escalating

– Monitoring and maintaining CSC recruitment data and performance

– Effective communication and stakeholder management with managers, candidates and partners/suppliers

Objectives

– Increase number of social work qualified appointments in Children’s Social Care

– Increase frequency of candidate communication and liaison

– Reduce onboarding timescales by revising and shortening current service level agreements (e.g. 5 working days from advert request to go-live)

– Deliver candidate/applicant experience improvements

– Improve accessibility of HR advice and guidance to hiring managers

– Engage HR more directly in supporting the development of strategic Children’s Social Care recruitment projects and initiatives
