Ash Consulting are working with a well-established company who supply quality engineering solutions to some of the most demanding of client specifications and can boast a prestigious range of clients world wide. The company are now seeking to appoint an experienced Technician to join their busy UKAS certified quality department at their South Yorkshire headquarters. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who has a keen interest in the technical aspects of quality, manufacturing and engineering to compliment the team and help manage the in house UKAS lab.

Role & Responsibilities

To be responsible for the running of the in house UKAS lab and to ensure continued compliance to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by liaising with UKAS on the following:

• Ensure the yearly UKAS reassessment and surveillance visits are successfully carried out.

• Maintain the Laboratory Quality Manual ensuring it is correct and meaningful.

• Ensure laboratory / UKAS non-conformances and corrective actions are documented and acted on.

• Ensuring the UKAS certification process is effective.

• Maintain effective records of all calibrations and certificates.

• Controlling the calibration status of in-house inspection equipment.

• Measuring and calibrating customer gauges.

• First point of contact with customers regarding UKAS issues.

You will also oversee certain quality inspection processes

• Completing process and final inspection

• Generating first article inspection reports (FAIRs)

• Gauging calibration and control and using CMM equipment

• Completing internal audits

Required Skills & Experience

Engineering Inspection Knowledge – knowledge of gauge manufacturing standards.

Experience with UKAS procedures. 

Computer literate in MS Excel and Word.

Additional Skills

Knowledge of QM soft calibration software an advantage.

The individual should be positive and enthusiastic, be able to use their initiative and experience to work efficiently with minimum supervision and to work to high quality standards.
