Fitter / Fabricator

Our client is a leading global provider of high-quality vacuum products and systems along with an established tradition of service and attention to detail. Our clients have been around since 1954 and have grown from a regional manufacturer and distributor of vacuum components into today’s worldwide marketplace and they are currently looking for a Fitter and Fabricator.

The ideal Fitter and Fabricator will need the ability to layout, position and secure parts and assemblies to meet drawing requirements, using straight edges, squares, angle plates, blocks, clamps and pointers.

Your duties as a Fitter and Fabricator will be:

* Fit and tack tubes and fittings for vacuum chambers in various positions.
* Reads and understands technical prints.
* Understands and works to technical prints including weld symbols.
* Thorough understanding of measuring tools such as calipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes.
* Entering time through shop floor control.
* Multi-task within a Manufacturing Cell.
* At all times promote and maintain a Safe and Clean Work environment.
* Flexible Approach to work extended hours and/or weekends at peak levels.

The ideal Fitter and Fabricator will need:

* Solid understanding of mathematics, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
* Proven experience of assembling Vacuum Chambers or related Components.
* Fork Lift License & First aid training preferred but not essential.
* Be polite, informative and have professional attitude towards customers, co-workers.
* Must be multitasking team player.

Salary

£26,000 – £28,800 per year
