PRODUCTION MANAGER / DAYS / OLDHAM AREA / £35,000 – £40,000 + BONUS DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE / FABRICATION BUSINESS

OUR CLIENT

Is a leading engineering company based in the Oldham area with a long history of producing high quality products. Their processes comprise machining, fabrication and paint shop and they are expanding presently. As a drive to support this growth and be more world class in its processes a requirement for a Production Manager has arisen.

THE ROLE

This role will suit a Production Manager who recognises “what good looks like” and has a clear understanding of manufacturing principles. These will include visual management, KPI’s, root cause analysis, performance management and lean activities. This understanding is important because a huge amount of work will be focussed on establishing acceptable standards and targets that will be clear to the shop floor and enable performance improvement. An understanding of manufacturing engineering would be a great benefit as shop floor timings are required in order to populate the ERP system on site and give much better predictions on production planning and product costings. In addition to a good technical understanding of manufacturing principles it is also of equal importance that you are able to engage the staff, motivate them and drive improvement the staff will buy into.

THE PERSON

You will be a confident and experienced fabrication (welding) Production Manager who has a positive approach and really thrives on improving production. You must be comfortable dealing with potentially difficult situations with a constructive outcome and be consistent, positive and energetic in your approach.

THE SALARY

£35,000 – £40,000 + bonus (depending on experience)
