Salary: £54,000 – £60,000 per year
We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join a well established manufacturing organisation in the Croydon area.
This is a fantastic opening for someone who is looking for an opportunity to develop their career within a manufacturing organisation and manage production performance to meet or improve upon targets for safety, cost, quality, delivery, equipment and people.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop a high-performing production team, to support continuous improvement in efficiency, service delivery, skill level and behaviours.
Ensuring individual and team training is adequate and focused on delivering the Fabrication schedule and that training records are up to date.
Attendance of the Daily Production meeting, reporting against agreed KPI’s and managing day to day issues within the department.
Actively leading the improvement of OHSE, challenging unsafe acts/behaviour, carrying out risk assessments and ensuring safe working practices are the primary focus of the team.
Identifying and reacting promptly and effectively to; changes in demand, shortfalls in respect to plan, capacity constraints, labour shortages and delivery requirements, ensuring labour is effectively utilised.
Ensure quality and production transactional records are accurate and recorded in a timely manner to ensure on time in full delivery and full traceability through the Fabrication process.
Lead problem solving teams to investigate customer complaints and process errors.
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager looking after a Production, Manufacturing or Assembly team
Experience of and genuine passion of managing & supervising teams of skilled & semi-skilled Production/ Manufacturing teams
Good IT skills in Microsoft packages and bespoke manufacturing software
Good communication skills at all levels
A higher level technical qualification (relevant Degree, HNC/ HND is desirable)
Any transferable knowledge of production processes and procedures
Any Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma qualifications or CI knowledge is advantageous
