Salary: £32,400 – £36,000 per year

Our client design, manufacture and install highest quality bespoke disabled access solutions for a range of applications and supply these to prestigious clients throughout the world. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth for 2016, they are now looking to recruit an experienced, commercially aware and self-motivated Manufacturing Assembly Engineer to complement their established and successful team.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role will suit an experienced engineer with proven skills in paying high attention to quality and detail who is able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, who will assist in the increase in the amount of projects that the company can take on each year whilst guaranteeing the same high levels of quality and take a leading role in the assembly of pre-fabricated parts for lifts. You will be required to assemble the full system including frames, platform, stairs, gate/barriers and any rising posts or stair profiles before the system moves on to the final set up & testing phase.

Able to fabricate from drawings, and assemble pre-fabricated parts to a professional standard, you will lead the installations of bespoke lifts both nationally and internationally, and assist in both wiring & electrics and hydraulics. Additionally required to assist on services & callouts when required, you will also ensure the workshop environment is kept clean and tidy, and will support the activities of other members of the team around you.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a good academic background along with previous experience gained within an engineering or fabrication environment. You will demonstrate a basic knowledge in hydraulics, electrics and mechanics and the ability to read both manufacturing drawings and circuit diagrams.

A skilled and methodical problem solver with keen attention to detail, experience in the lift industry would prove distinctly advantageous (although not essential) as would experience of MIG, ARC and/or TIG welding and associated British Standards. Compulsory Manual Handling Training will be provided as will asbestos awareness training to ensure safety when undertaking site visits and installs, and you will also be required to undergo the forklift training provided.
