Manual Miller / Machinist / Turner

Our client is an established manufacturer and supplier of Mechanical & Electrical equipment often found within Hospitals and similar environments.

They have an immediate job vacancy for a Skilled Machinist / Miller / Turner for low batch work / high quality machining within their Newhaven based factory.

Must be experienced in using:

• Milling Machine with digital readout
o (Very occasional rotary table usage)
• Lathe with digital readout
o (Very occasional screw cutting)
• Hand Grinder for tool grinding/sharpening
• Ability to turn and mill working with stainless steels and plastics
• Occasional high tolerance works; but predominantly surface finish most important.

• Must be able to work under own initiative, reporting directly to the Production Manager but working with other members of staff (supervisors) in the other departments.
• Must be able to read drawings, sketches and work to verbal instructions.
• Must be flexible in approach, the company build custom equipment so often working new/different products.
• Responsible for upkeep of this one person department i.e. for H&S, tools, materials, housekeeping, stocks etc.

Any other skills such as fitting, the willingness to occasional work on site to help with installations if required, and when required support other departments would also be advantageous.
