YOU is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for 30 years to vulnerable people across Hampshire and Dorset, giving them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

As a Support Worker you will be assisting vulnerable adults in their own homes, and in the community to live the life they want. The range of client groups you will work with includes individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities. You will be expected to provide safe, person centred support, promote independent living skills and help make clients’ hopes and aspirations a reality.

Our staff members make a real difference. As a Support Worker you will support people to make informed choices about their lives, promote self-advocacy and take positive risks. This may involve assisting people to find work or volunteering opportunities, access education, get involved in community events, as well as helping with personal budgets, personal care, planning and preparing meals where needed, and maintaining a home and their tenancy. You will also work closely with people to promote positive health and care need outcomes, working alongside other care professionals.

You need to be professional and proactive in all that you do, and be motivational, encouraging and supportive of the people we work with and colleagues alike. A good sense of humour and positive values will help to make you a success in this role. Relevant knowledge and skills relating to supporting a variety of vulnerable people are desirable and your values really count. We also want people who will share their successes and promote this excellent service wherever they go.

Our service provides support 365 days a year so that’s what we need to cover. That means the role will include weekends and bank holidays on a rota pattern, so we can only consider people who are able to commit to working these types of hours. You will have opportunities for further training and development and regular support and supervision from an experienced management team.

This is such a rewarding role so if this sounds like something you’d relish we can’t wait to hear from you! Please ring Steve Almond. Steve will ask you a few key questions to assess your suitability for this post. If you are successful during this initial screening you will be invited to an assessment and interview, the date of which will be agreed at this point.

Please note we will select the first suitable applicants for assessment – SO DON’T DELAY, APPLY TODAY!

We are also recruiting to our bank of Sessional Support Workers, called Premier Crew to work on a relief basis in a number of our services throughout Hampshire and with a variety of different client groups.

If this is something that interests you please ring for more details.
