Optical Manufacturing Support Engineer
Permanent – London
£45,000-£50,000

Stream Resourcing are working with a market leading client and we are looking for an experienced Production Support Engineer to join their team. This is an opportunity to join a well established organisation who are flourishing in a prolonged period of sustained, organic growth.
Key Responsibilities

Providing technical support for product and test systems
Prioritise and resolve critical manufacturing issues within reasonable time-frame
Ensure that all instruments are calibrated and arrange for calibration with Vendors whenever necessary
To dispose production technical requests in timely manner
Support other new product introductions as necessary (PRM, DCFO etc)
Develop and maintain good communication lines with development engineers
Make improvements to existing test stations, cabling, cable marking, design simple power, and communication switching devices
Maintain a ‘clean and lean’ working environment with proper tooling; procuring necessary tools and sundries, as required
Build, validate and commission test stations
Develop and maintain technical documentations
Ensure that test systems maintenance procedures are followed, with proper paperwork and logbooks up to date
Participate in analysis and debug of Field returns
Desired Skills/Experience

Knowledge of Optical/Transmission manufacturing (essential), with a knowledge of Electrical Engineering
Knowledge of optical components, optical measurements, optical instruments and basic optical principles
Understanding of Lean Six Sigma and believing in Lean culture/working environment
Fault finding in Electronic assemblies
Experience in automated assembly and test measurement processes
Data analysis, graphs, histograms plotting and other relevant statistical tools
Working in a high reliability product manufacturing environment
