Salary: £18.82 per hour

As one of the UK’s largest food businesses, Our client is playing a critical role in keeping the nation fed. They are continuing to operate and have recently refurbished and updated one of our hatcheries. They are now looking to recruit a motivated team of LGV 1 Drivers.

Purpose of the role
As a LGV 1 Drivers you will play a hugely important role in ensuring a consistent supply of eggs and chicks to and from the site, enabling the rest of the business to keep up with the pace of customer orders.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Distribution of eggs from various company farms to the hatchery
• Delivering of chicks to grow out and broiler farms
• Ensuring the upmost care and attention is paid securing and delivering loads
• Completing the relevant checks and procedures concerning bird welfare and bio security
• Hands on movement and securing of loads weighing up to 20kg

What we are looking for:
• A LGV 1 with less than 9 points
• Valid and in date CPC and Tacho cards
• At least 2 years’ LGV 1 experience for insurance purposes
• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
• The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
• Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
• Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not
essential as full training will be provided

Working Hours:
5 out of 6 days – Monday – Saturday. Start times around 6am. Flexibility is required.
Due to the locality of many of the farms, we anticipate that your average working week will be approximately 40 hours

• Daily temperature screening
• Social distancing measures – including floor markers and 2m separation where
possible
• Screens and barriers installed at workstations and canteens
• PPE and face coverings required in all shared spaces
• Additional facilities and amenities to reduce congestion
• Increased cleaning regimes across sites
