Van Driver

Salary: £13.44 per hour

Can you drive Luton Vans and do you want to become an HGV Driver within a rapidly growing family logistics business? We are hiring a Van Driver to start their journey, where we will pay for the right individual to become a qualified Class 2 driver with further opportunities being made available to become an HGV 1 driver. The suitable candidate must have a flexible working approach.
All our driving positions are permanent and full-time, as such if you have a desire to become an HGV 1 driver and have the ability to drive vans in the short term, and work for a rapidly growing logistics service provider, namely ATL. ATL is a dynamic, forward thinking family run business established in 1959, which currently has approximately 300 brilliant colleagues across 6 UK sites. The company’s activities include:
• UK and European transport.
• Distribution and Storage.
As such we’ve got vacancies for a professional Van Driver and wanabee HGV Class 1 Driver at our Foston Headquarters site at – DE65 5DJ. The role will work Monday – Friday Days.
We are looking for a van driver who:
* Holds a valid Driving Licence (Category B) but with a strong desire to upskill to become a qualified HGV Driver.
* Drive in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to parking, speed and road signage.
* Work safely within the Health and safety environmental guidelines, and ensure all vehicle checks are carried out prior to commencement of work.
* Are flexible in approach to work, and work effectively as part of a team, providing support in resolving problems and have a can do, right first time and passionate approach.
* Work within all legal parameters of drivers’ hours and working time directive legislation, being fully compliant with tachograph and break requirements.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Excellent customer care skills.
* Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.

* Upon conversion to HGV Class 2 the wage increases to £13.44 per hour with further increases upon conversion to HGV Class 1.
