Technical Writer / Technical Author

Salary: £48,000 – £66,000 per year

You will be a Technical Writer who enjoys combining your scientific / engineering knowledge with marketing to promote strategic sales and developing the technical content documents to support product launches.

You’ll have a passion for developing excellent technical content, expanding and enhancing web pages following review to drive additional sales, taking new products from idea/concept through to post-release successful launches. 

What you will be doing as the Technical Writer:

• Communicate internationally with the global internal teams to understand the products and documentation needs
• Prepare, review and maintain technical documents for new and existing products
• You’ll review web content to develop and expand with features, e.g. videos, applications, features and new images
• Enhance external search engine keyword content for maximising impact
• Review UK and US technical marketing web presentations
• Assist with new product marketing insight, analysis, viability, target customers and applications on a project basis

Skills and qualities required for the Technical Writer:

• Scientific or engineering degree with proven technical writing experience for products and software documentation
• Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills – you’ll be a great communicator
• Attention to detail, organised and able to deliver high quality documentation
• A team player who can collaborate, multitask, yet manage your time and work independently to achieve all deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ideally have prior experience with video creation, proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop and FrameMaker
