My client is a hugely successful organisation within the financial services sector. They are highly regarded and well-established. Due to expansion, they are looking for a talented Solutions Architect with experience in retail banking or similar, to be responsible for translating business requirements into IT solutions, taking into account the complexity of existing systems, through effective negotiation of the priority of scope and requirements, to help my client get the best value from its IT investment.

Solutions Architect – Key Responsibilities:

• Design and provide technical support, through the delivery of solutions that meet the requirements of the business, support the IT strategy, and are aligned with the IT architecture
• Include data, applications, technology, integration, interfaces, security, scalability, performance, as well as product transition and support aspects as part of solutions
• In collaboration with other key stakeholders and contributors, the SA will produce the architectural artefacts and present to governance forums
• Review deliverables throughout the development and delivery stages, and be accountable for the outputs being requested, and fitting with the IT strategy/roadmap
• Create solutions that align with the architectural principles and standards used
• Translate business needs into both functional and non-functional requirements
• Track and understand emerging technologies and advise on the use of them while developing solutions

Architect – Key Technologies:

• Microsoft Azure (Storage, Virtual machines, network components, databases)
• Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Power Apps, Compliance &DLP)
• Data analytics (Snowflake, Fivetran, Power BI)
• CRM (Dynamics 365)
• Transactional banking applications

Solutions Architect – Experience and Skills Required:

• Strong understanding of IT Architecture across software, networks, hardware, data and security
• Strong experience in architecture approaches and technical implementations
• Excellent documentation skills and creating solution level concepts/reusable content
• Analysing technology environment, technology evaluation & selection
• Clearly communicating current, transitional, and target Architectures
• Flexibility to recognise, adapt, and work effectively within diverse situations, with various individuals or groups with differing perspectives and objectives
• Experience in retail banking or similar sector
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders
• Working knowledge of both waterfall and agile delivery methods
• TOGAF certification
• In addition, ffamiliarity with architecture modelling notations such as UML and ArchiMate, familiarity with data warehousing data modelling approaches and experience with Sparx EA modelling tool is preferred.
