Senior Mechanical Designer

Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer/PDMS in scope of IR35 to join our clients team based at Warrington for the next 3-6 months.

Mechanical Designer Role overview:
Main purpose of the role:
To provide technically/discipline focused support to the Design Engineer in the production of arrangement and detail drawings, basic calculations and other support activities associated with the implementation of internal and external projects from concept through to site implementation and operation
Key responsibilities as a Mechanical Designer…
* Interpretation of drawings and specifications provided by internal and external customers on a broad spectrum of nuclear and non-nuclear projects.
* Preparation of layout drawings, basic calculations, selection of propriety equipment associated with projects and work packages.
* Produce bid, tender and construction drawings using manual and CAD systems; competence in latter preferred.
* Ensure that developed designs comply with appropriate legislative and Company Safety requirements.
* Assist Lead Engineer/Design Engineer in the production of calculations
* Assist the Design Engineer in the preparation of cost estimates for production of designs and drawings.
* Assist the Design Engineer in the compilation and preparation of specifications and contract documentation.
Ideally you will have the following skills, experience and attributes…
* 2D AutoCAD
* 3D Inventor
* PDMS – equipment modelling and Plant layout with the experience in the production of 2D GA / Layout drawings in PDMS
* Capable of producing Design Documentation including: MDS, Procurement Specifications and O&M Manuals
* Management of live documents e.g., RA and Engineering schedules
* Ability to support the Project Team responding to TQ, PP generated during Manufacture.
* Security Clearance – BPSS
