Laboratory Technician

Salary: £14.54 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client, the powerhouse behind Magnum, Solero, Cornetto and Ben & Jerry’s, are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician, based at Burton upon Trent. This is a full-time temporary role to run until after Christmas, paying £14.54 per hour, working 39 hours per week, to start immediately.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The role supports to the implementation of Quality basic standard and laboratory analysis in production environment. This Quality role ensures the samples are taken according to the sampling plan and analysis are carried out based on Standard Operational Procedures to ensure product consumer safety & overall quality and address potential consumer safety issues.

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports implementation of UL QMS in the site to assure consumer safety and overall quality of final product being manufactured
Supports to keep the laboratory equipment operational and calibrated
Supports in preparation of local laboratory work instructions that ensure lines operators will carry out the testing of products appropriately and accurately
Supports data collection and escalation to Quality Manager when the results are out of specifications limits
Supports to verify that quality documents, data are accordingly filled in by lines operators
Supports to control non-conforming materials and products
Carry out the laboratory analysis and product sampling to ensure compliance with product specification and validation/verification plans
Carry out the production environmental assessment by taking the microbiological swabs, rinse water, ATP and visual inspection after the cleaning and disinfection

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

Minimum GCSE’s in Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent This will support recording of data, analysis of machine performance and general teamwork skills with an emphasis on good communication.
Must have experience with warehouse systems such as SAP.
Must have experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
Must have experience in a similar role.Desirable

Experience of manufacturing in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Company.
