Transport Planner – Days

Salary: £31,200 – £33,600 per year

An initial 12 month contract

Great opportunity to work for a global construction company based in the heart of Rugby as a Transport Planner.

Working Monday – Friday 39 hours a week between 6am – 6.30pm and only 1 Saturday in 4 7am – 12 noon.

Key duties include:

· Plan and manage through to completion, deliveries of bulk product, utilising custom planning, GPS tracking and EPOD systems.

· Optimisation of internal and external resources to ensure a cost-effective transport operation is maintained.

· Ensure customer deliveries are made within defined service parameters and in line with our Service Promise.

· Proactively manage service issues to customer satisfaction.

· Maintain stock levels at outlying depots.

· Plan driver days in accordance with the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers Hours legislation.

· Liaison with the Customer Services Team, Despatch personnel, drivers and contracted hauliers.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills.

· Customer-focused.

· Previous transport planning experience ideally using TMS

· Understanding of the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers Hours legislation is essential.

Good geographical and road network knowledge.

· IT Proficient.

· Flexible approach to maximize team effectiveness.
