An energetic and compassionate Credit Controller is required to fulfil a frontline role at a leading crowd-funder. You will likely be a recent graduate looking to forge a career in an exciting company.

The Credit Controller will be joining the UKs first online marketplace for SMEs to gain start-up funding and for investors to gain a high yielding return on their investments. Since launching in 2010, the business has lent over £100m through its unique platform and is in line to increase this rate to £1billion by 2014.

The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing a portfolio of borrowers who are late in repaying their loans. The company’s ethos is to build trust through communication, and the Credit Controller will be vital in upholding these values. This is the first role of its kind in the business, and is therefore an excellent opportunity to make a role your own and to become involved in company strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

•Managing the portfolio of missed payments, including contacting late borrowers by phone and email
•Establishing the reasons behind credit-related events by contacting borrowers, and then inputing data into analytic tools
•Reporting to senior management on specific cases, and providing your opinion on the borrower’s attitude with respect to their repayment obligations
•Working with your team and external lawyers and consultants to ensure that court deadlines are met and company policies are followed

Essential Skills:

•Educated to degree level (2:1) in a numerical subject, law, psychology, or related subject
•Any customer service experience is advantageous, but a desire to understand other people is essential
•Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to remain professional but empathetic in difficult situations
•Ability to learn and follow policies
•Computer literate with good Excel and Word skills
