Credit Controller 1 Year Fixed Contract

Salary: £28,800 – £30,000 per year

My client is one of the fastest growing law firms in the UK and some of the nicest people I get to work with! 

They need a Credit Controller to join the team, with an immediate start on a 12 month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience working in a credit control department, and previous experience in a law firm would be advantageous but is not essential.

There is a strong possibility that the role will be made permanent at the end of the contract.

Your Expertise will cover:

• Ability to understand and manage credit control / debt recovery including processing claim forms
• Reviewing customer credit limits
• Chasing clients, both private and commercial, for overdue bills via telephone, email and letter
• Ensuring payment terms are adhered to in order to facilitate monthly cash targets being met
• Allocation of receipts in an accurate and timely manner
• Reviewing and understanding client ledgers
• Dealing with clients and internal queries relating to bills and client ledgers
• Liaising with principal lawyers and fee earners on a regular basis regarding aged debt positions
• Assist with monthly aged debt reconciliation and identify aged debt provisions
• Other Ad hoc duties as required by the credit control supervisor / team

• A confident telephone manner and excellent written communication skills
• Empathetic but tenacious, with the ability to build relationships to ensure debts are resolved quickly and efficiently
• Ability to understand and manage credit control processes
• The ability to work in a team and individually with self-motivation
• Good attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines in a fast paced, challenging and result driven environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Excel
