Quality Engineer

Salary: £42,000 per year

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our clients ever-expanding team. This is an excellent career opportunity for personal development within a growing business. You will report to the Technical Director and will strategically manage and lead the business management systems for our BSI registered ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001 certificates. As the Quality Engineer you will actively support our design and manufacturing departments, supplying engineering analysis on product and process conformity issues.

The successful candidate will have experience in Quality Assurance within a thriving manufacturing environment and be a trained internal auditor. It would be an advantage to have experience of mechanical and electrical engineering and associated technology. The ideal candidate will be a self-reliant analytical problem solver, with good communications skills with the flexibility to fit into a culture, which encourages multitasking and multi-skilling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be accountable for the planning and control of all quality, environmental and health and safety activities and systems across the site.
• Accountable for the quality, environmental and health and safety compliance with third party accreditations.
• Ensure effective distribution of quality resources across the site to meet business demands.
• Actively drive the continual improvement activities across the business.
• Planning, implementation, coordination, and reporting of internal and external audit programs.
• Accountable for the reporting on performance towards relevant KPIs.
• Proactively and strategically lead the quality team through regular performance reviews and upskilling of responsible employees.
• Support the Technical Director in the implementation of the business management systems.

Key Requirements:

• Educated HNC or degree level in relevant engineering discipline.
• Internal auditor trained by an accredited body (e.g., BSI).
• Working experience of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards and how to implement them.
• Ideally IOSH certified.
• Strong computer literacy and IT skills.
• Good communicator with the ability to collate and report data to all levels of the business.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
