Job Description
From Security to ‘Multi-Service’ provisions, Alandale Logistics provides logistical planning solutions and management strategies to clients, developers and main contractors in all key aspects of the Construction process.
Being part of Alandale Group of Companies, Alandale Logistics are involved with some of the largest and most complex construction projects in the UK.
We are looking for two experienced Logistics Supervisors to assisting our Site Managers with management and coordination of works on our projects, ensuring control of costs, H&S compliance, quality control and processing of additional works. Responsibilities will include supervising the project lifecycle to ensure profit margins are successfully achieved as well as resource management on a daily basis. You will be required to work closely with the Site Manager and may have to manage the site in absence of the manager.
The role will include;
• Successfully progressing through each stage of the project through each internal function to include technical, planning, production, dispatch and site to ensure site programs are consistently met.
• Liaise with the design and detailing team to fully understand the technical scope and build ability of the entire project under the supervision of the site manager or contract manager.
• Proactively supervise this programme by weekly progress meeting with representatives from design, production, dispatch and site as and when required by site manager or contract manager.
• Provide updates to the Site Manager and Contract Manager.
• Supervise the flow of detailing information from the design office to the production facility to allow for site commitments to be fulfilled.
• Attend weekly site meetings to be familiar with all site requirements and co-ordinate to ensure no delays on site as and when required.
• Immediately highlight any deviation from target programme or budget to the Site Manager/ Contract Manager.
• Liaise with the Quantity Surveyors and Contract Managers regarding any real or potential difficulties ensuring that these are properly logged and communicated to the client.
• Ensure contract requirements and expectations are met.
• To ensure that Health & Safety responsibilities are fully considered with regard to each contract and its subsequent costing.
• To actively seek methods of minimizing costs within each contract in terms of wastage of time, product, etc.
• To protect the Company’s financial and Health and Safety interests on site as required for specific contracts and to be fully aware of the scope of work that the Company has contracted to carry out.
• Effectively supervising staff on site, advising the Quantity Surveyor of any changes as required
• Carrying out operatives toolbox talks and assisting with method statements.
