Salary: £14.05 per hour
Central is currently recruiting for a Floating Support Worker, to work in the Greenwich area. The service provides high quality housing related support to young people aged 16-25, in their homes and in the community, in order to improve their quality of life and to increase their level of protection from risk.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per hour, working Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM. Cover is required for approximately 3 months with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £14.05per hour, with £1.41 holiday pay, totalling £13.12 per hour.
In this position, you will be responsible for;
* Holding a caseload of 20 clients and carrying out regular key working sessions resulting in agreed Support Plans which are reviewed regularly
* Arranging and carrying out assessment interviews to assess referrals to the Service ensuring service criteria are met and suitable clients accepted
* Assessing the needs of young people and planning and delivering programmes related to health, fitness, substance misuse, relationships, safeguarding, social inclusion, tenancy sustainment etc.
* Work closely with the council’s housing and social services to help assess the needs of young people in order to identify appropriate accommodation
* Working with clients to maximise benefit entitlements and reduce arrears by offering information and support
* Supporting young people to work towards gaining greater independence by assisting them to access work, education or training
* Record all client contacts appropriately and accurately on the database
To apply for this role, you must have;
* Experience of working with young people and experience managing complex and difficult situations in relation to young people
* Experience of holding a caseload, completing comprehensive risk and needs assessments and Support Plans and experience goal setting and advocating for young people
* An understanding of working in a floating support service; with a knowledge of Housing and other related Legislation
* Experience preparing and maintaining case records, communicating with other agencies and analysing written and numerical information
* Ability to effectively liaise with a range of service providers or agencies in order to establish or improve services for client
* An understanding of the principles underlying a quality service, with proven ability to empower service users
* Ability to be self motivating, work under pressure and manage time effectively

Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £44)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
